UK Sanctions against West Bank violence network

The UK government has taken strong action against individuals and organisations involved in violence and intimidation against Palestinians in the West Bank by introducing a new round of sanctions. This move, announced by Foreign Secretary David Lammy, targets three people and several illegal settler-linked groups and outposts known for promoting or carrying out violence.
One of the most prominent figures sanctioned is Daniella Weiss, also known as the ‘Godmother’ of the Israeli settler movement. She has been prominent in the founding of illegal settlements and ‘has been involved in threatening, perpetrating, promoting and supporting, acts of aggression and violence against Palestinian individuals.’
She now faces a travel ban, an asset freeze, and a ban on holding directorships in UK companies.
As per the BBC, she does not deny ethnic cleansing.
She has also commented that "The world is wide," she says. "Africa is big. Canada is big. The world will absorb the people of Gaza. How we do it? We encourage it. Palestinians in Gaza, the good ones, will be enabled. I'm not saying forced, I say enabled because they want to go."
The United Nations has reported that at least 358 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza only in the last week because of Israeli attacks targeting houses and tents for displaced people, with children and women comprising at least 148 of the victims.

Another individual, Harel Libi, who owns Libi Construction and Infrastructure, has been sanctioned for using his company to support the creation of illegal settler outposts. These outposts have led to the forced removal of Palestinian families from their homes. His company is now also under financial restrictions, and he is disqualified from being a company director in the UK.
Zohar Sabah, the third individual sanctioned, is accused of promoting and taking part in violent acts against Palestinians. Like Weiss and Libi, he now faces travel restrictions and financial penalties.
The sanctions also include three settler outposts and organisations. Nachala, a group known for its open encouragement of illegal land grabs and displacement of Palestinians, has been frozen out of accessing funds in the UK. Libi Construction and Infrastructure, in addition to Libi himself, faces an asset freeze for its role in illegal expansion. Two settler outposts – Coco’s Farm and Neria’s Farm – are also being sanctioned for their links to cruelty and violence, with both facing financial restrictions.
This action comes after the UN recorded over 1,800 violent settler attacks against Palestinians in 2024 alone. The UK has made it clear that this kind of aggression is unacceptable. These sanctions are part of a wider effort to hold those responsible accountable and to push for peace and justice in the region.
A documentary film has been made by Louis Theroux, named 'The Settlers' which looks further into the reality of settler violence in the West Bank.
